The CD contains an introduction, a tutorial and two identification keys, one to all native and naturalised Rubus species in Australia and one to the species of blackberry (the Rubus fruticosus aggregate). Each species has a fact sheet with information and images, as well as links to further information and images on the web. The fact sheet also incorporates a live link to Australia’s Virtual Herbarium for the generation of up-to-date distribution maps of each species from herbarium records in Australian government herbaria. There is in addition a list of all Rubus species names, a background to Rubus classification, information on the use of rusts as biocontrol agents in Australia, a glossary, and information on how to collect blackberry in order to obtain an accurate identification.
Further links point to general information on Rubus available on the web. A manual based on a series of training sessions in the southern Australian states is also included.
